the fox-red brown thrasher haunts the wood lots, hedgerows, and gardens of North America. Despite its skulking manner, the brown thrasher may deliver its song from a prominent, exposed perch.
11 1/2" (29 cm). The brown thrasher is entirely rufous on his crown, back, wings, and tail, with2 dull white wing bars. The face is dull gray-brown. The underparts are whitish, strongly washed with buff on the brest and sides, and heavily streaked with with dark brown.. the eyes are usually yellow (rarely orange), and the bill is dark with a pale to the lower mandible.
Calls include a low spunk, a hard cracking sound, and a 3-note whistle, pitcher.
This is Georgia state bird.
